“Spring has sprung, the grass has riz, I wonder where the birdies is?”
– author unknown
Having grown up in central Indiana where winters could be brutal and we always welcomed spring, I heard the little ditty about spring, grass, and birds numerous times. It was humorous and fun to repeat. And it was a standard opening welcome to the beginning of spring.
Now that we’re rapidly approaching spring in Greenville, we can look forward to preparing for its season and on into summer. The attached photo speaks well to what I will be doing for the next few weeks. It’s time to get outside and tidy up the garden and reshape the shrubs, and to welcome the birds back.
We have some lovely spring features for you in this issue. Three homes are each different in design, exterior and interior, and in the placement of the home. Speaking of birds, there’s an article on how to make life a bit easier for them by inviting them into your yard.
Sarkis Studio features unique art pieces that will add color and style to your interiors. The GreenvilleMOD group will be hosting a tour this year that will be a bit different. Learn about it in the Periscope article, which features a beautiful mid-mod designed kitchen. Check out Treasure to learn about some elegant replacements for real flowers in your home. And if you’re trying to decide where to visit outside of Greenville this year, Detour will provide an intriguing option.
In addition to welcoming spring, we have a new managing editor, Marion Reeves. She is settling in beautifully and we are delighted to welcome her to the atHome team.
Have a fantastic spring. We’ll be back with the summer issue in June.
Enjoy!
