“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.”

      ― Edith Sitwell

We certainly are lucky. Of course, it will get cold for a bit here in Greenville. We found that happened back in November when we least expected it. But it doesn’t get as cold and snowy here as it does in other parts of our wonderful USA, so let’s grin and bear it until we approach spring.

A good way to enjoy the next few months is to take your time and indulge in reading the fascinating articles we have ready for you in this winter issue. Of course, we have several lovely homes for you to view, each with its own unique style. One is in the Lake Keowee area, one is in The Cliffs Keowee Springs, one is in The Cliffs Mountain Park, and one offers a before-and-after look at a home here in Greenville.

With Christmas coming up soon, you will find some ideas to add more fun to the festive season. If you’re thinking of a new way to store your wine, be sure to read the What to Drink article for some wonderful tips. Or how about a greenhouse to store plants during the cold? In the Garden will show you a stunner. Looking for a different gift to give to a friend this year? Follow the lovely work of Marquin Campbell in the Composition article. For a good getaway, Detour will entice you to visit Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

We hope you enjoy the articles in this issue and that you and your loved ones have a wonderful holiday season. And, have a lively bit of fun on New Year’s Eve.

“A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water.”
― Carl Reiner
