“An urban oasis is the best way to describe this house. It really is like a resort in the middle of downtown,” says architect Jared Moore, looking from the sparkling pool in the secluded backyard up to the rooftop patio, where this striking multistory home melts into the skyline and offers a breezy view of Paris Mountain. “It’s extremely private—a place for [its owners] to retreat from their busy lives.”

That sense of elevated calm is certainly intentional. The McCall home belongs to author, entrepreneur, and former Bachelor and Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman and her husband, Blaine Hart, a commercial real estate developer. The couple might have a high profile, but they’re also a young family, and the living spaces reflect the need for functionality and serenity while still checking all of the boxes for luxurious entertaining.

“We love this home because it is inviting yet the perfect level of comfort for our family,” says Hart. “We love to entertain but also relax and this is the best of both worlds. A comfortable oasis, largely due to the incredible design and layout from Creative Founder. Jared hit it out of the park for us!”

The four-bedroom, four-bath home was conceptualized by Jared Moore of Creative Founder, a Greenville-based architectural firm that specializes in custom homes, and the contractor was Mark Thoennes Builders. The interior design was done by the talented homeowner herself, Andi Dorfman. “A lot of the black and white, high-contrast styling you see throughout comes from her own aesthetic,” reveals Moore, pointing to many of the textural paintings that began life as canvases in the home’s third-floor art studio.

A sinuous waterfall island. A fitness room with a roll-up door to the outside. A super-smart shower for two. A wood-burning outdoor fireplace for star-studded gatherings under the night sky. The McCall home juxtaposes drama with quiet elegance at every turn.

“The entry is where it all begins,” says Moore. “There’s a two-story foyer with tons of glass, and Andi nailed it with that light fixture. It really introduces the vibe of the house—that urban oasis—right off the bat. It sets the expectation that this home is its own unique and different experience. The ceiling at the front door is ten feet, but directly to your left, the space opens up into a two-story foyer filled with glass.”

The waterdrop hanging light fixture was hand-picked by Dorfman Hart.

A striking all-black powder room on the first floor flips the bright palette of the rest of the home for a touch of drama and dark glamour, while continuing to celebrate the couple’s love of high-contrast decor and Dorfman Hart’s unique artwork aesthetic.

The second-floor guest bedroom, which is currently a nursery, features a unique wrap-around window design. The largest panels overlook the pool and gaze toward downtown Greenville. At the same time, the smaller panel, directly across from the bed, was strategically placed to frame a beautiful view of Paris Mountain.

The outside world melts away with every dip into the saltwater pool or swing on the putting green at the home’s outdoor oasis. A wood-burning fireplace, seamless big-screen entertainment, and private lounging areas make relaxation and fun a year-round event.

The airy, uber-functional main living space was designed for both relaxation and entertaining. The family can kick back and stream their favorite shows, with the kitchen just feet away—or open up the sliding doors and let the night spill out onto a covered patio and the pool deck.

Tucked just off the kitchen and main living space, a chic dining room offers a more intimate experience for slow mornings or sparkling evenings. Original artwork from Greenville-based painters Signe and Genna Grushovenko can be seen here and throughout the home.

At once sophisticated and understated, the modern kitchen basks in the light of two-story windows, trading clutter for clarity, and invites hungry guests to gather around the centerpiece of the space: a stunning black-and-white marble waterfall island.

The most functional, versatile space in the home is the third-floor living area. Part entertainment hub, part office, part art studio, the space gives this young working family a place to enjoy the fresh air and breathtaking views, curl up in a cozy overlook, work out without walls, or paint plein air.

“The master bathroom is really more of a huge ‘wet room.'” says Moore. An elegant floating vanity rolls right into a space that includes a large shower with smart controls and a bathtub, separated by massive ten-foot-tall sheets of glass.

The master bedroom serves as the inner oasis of the home, intentionally furnished by the talented Dorfman Hart to exude calm and collected serenity through rich textures and true neutrals.
