“Autumn . . . the year’s last, loveliest smile.”  William Cullen Bryant

We’re all smiles with lots to celebrate in this fall issue, our 20th year in publication.

I’ve been so very lucky to have been involved with atHome Magazine for these past 20 years. And I’m so looking forward to continuing this journey for a few more.

I said way back at the start that I had found the perfect job and I still believe that. I’ve met such wonderful people along the way. The homeowners I’ve spoken with have all been charming. The architects who designed the homes we have featured are incredibly talented and creative. The builders, many who have won awards for their work, are so generous in sharing the gorgeous homes they have constructed. And the interior designers and decorators have given us so many excellent ideas of how to fill those beautiful homes with just the right style and decor. We will be forever grateful for them all and look forward to continuing to include them in upcoming issues.

We are also grateful to all the talented contributors who helped us create articles on food, drink, art, vintage and antique items, swimming pools, game rooms, entertainment rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, porches, gardens, and so many other topics that we have covered over the years.

On this cover, and later in this issue, we have the first cover home from the 2003 issue. The second owners of the home have graciously let us show you how they have settled into this amazing home and used the talents of builder Craig Carver to make it a perfect fit for their family. It was an astounding project with an amazing outcome.

Utilizing some photos of the past, we’ll be looking back at topics over the last few years. We are featuring two additional homes that are also inspirational and a walk-and-talk with the exceptional landscape and garden design genius, Dabney Peeples. Plus, art, yummy cakes, where to go for great finds of vintage and antique items, and an enviable garage conversion.

We hope this special issue will delight you, and we’ll look forward to sharing more with you in the months ahead.
