Coastal Gem: Ocean Springs, MS
On a road trip to New Orleans, Stephanie Burnett decided to check it out and came away thinking Ocean Springs is one of the undiscovered gems to visit in 2024. She loved the charming, friendly, and picturesque small Mississippi town. If you like the vibe of Florida’s 30A—Rosemary, Grayton, Seaside—then add Ocean Springs to your list.
What’s fun is a reimagined downtown district, much like Greenville. Washington Avenue’s tree-lined sidewalks are peppered with shops and cafes.

Lake Keowee Home: Point of View
Though Lance, Kelly, and Case Hogg live in Woodway, Texas, they’ve already started enjoying their “Mountain Modern” getaway home at The Reserve at Lake Keowee. “We visited Lake Keowee and immediately fell in love,” Kelly says. “Coming from Texas, we enjoyed the milder climate and the beauty of the lake and mountain views.”
With almost 7,000 square feet, the lakefront home is the work of MHK Architecture and designed to capture as many lake views as possible. “From the street level, you can see the lake through the shed dormer windows,” says Tre Mason of MHK. “We wanted the design to complement the beautiful, natural landscape and never take away from it.”

Greywood Home: Greenville’s Chanticleer Neighborhood Brings an Update to Mid-Century Modern Classic
This project is one of those moments where, once you build it and see the design and the view come to life, it feels like you hit the sweet spot on the bat: you think, ‘wow, we nailed this,’” reflects Steve Carson of CarsonSpeer Builders. “It was just so well done, and so well thought through.”
That sentiment is shared by all who brought the Greywood Home in the Chanticleer neighborhood to life—from the owners to the landscaping and interior designers. The owners brought on a dream team to reimagine this mid-century, 3-story family home: CarsonSpeer, Tindall Architecture Workshop, Griffin Associates Interior Design and DabneyCollins.

The Art in Curating with Jill Alper
As the owner of Jill Alper Curatedesign, Alper helps clients who want original art for their homes and businesses. From choosing pieces to working with framers like Bennetts’ Frame and Art Gallery, as well as lighting and installation companies, to the pieces’ placement, Alper’s process is about curating connections.
“Art is very personal, and it’s something you will see every day,” she says. “People look at various aspects of the pieces, including color and size, and that’s important. But I do think creating the connections through the stories goes so much further.”

Summit at Pelham Springs: The Long View
Keith and Tonda Carter spent many happy years in a traditional family home off of Augusta Road. But when they purchased a condo at the Summit at Pelham Springs, they knew it was their chance for a fresh start: new friends, new challenges, and a whole new style.
One look at the Summit at Pelham Springs—five buildings perched on a hill amid the larger Pelham Springs community of single-family homes—and they both knew it was “the one.” The dated Tuscan decor didn’t suit their taste, but the layout, location, and incredible views sealed the deal.
